How Technology is helping with Communication Barrier in the health care setting

Technology is helping when it comes to overcoming communication barriers in health care. Due to the current shortages we are experiencing in the health care profession, patients are unable to receive efficient and timely diagnosis. Technology is helping in these communication barriers by developing different programs. For example, the Ontario government has initiated a program called Wait List Ontario, in which a list of patients needing a diagnostic test all across the province has been populated. The patient can figure out which diagnostic facility has less people on their list and opt to use their service instead of having to wait and to find out what is wrong with them. This helps for an earlier diagnosis and also offers a ‘peace of mind’ for the client.
